Corna Piana Loop: From the Viper's Path to Fos-ce in the foliage of Mount Baldo

A loop through rocks, high-altitude meadows, and autumn woods, in the heart of Monte Baldo.

We begin in San Valentino, between Brentonico and the Monte Baldo Nature Reserve, and immediately tackle the most challenging section of the trail: the Sentiero delle Vipere (Vipers’ Path), which winds its way through the rocks of Crone di Bès.

Here, the landscape changes rapidly, revealing a unique environment, shaped by rocks and a nature capable of adapting to changing conditions.

We then ascend towards Corna Piana (1,736 m), the highest point of the loop. Traces of a more recent past emerge among the rocks and meadows, reminiscent of a mountain profoundly marked by history.

From here, the trail continues through open spaces and forests, which in autumn are illuminated by warm colours and a golden light that invites you to pause at every turn.

On the way back, we reach the Baita Fos-ce Refuge (1430 m), a small SAT support point, where we can take a short break before completing the loop and returning to the cars.
